Mike ‘Cowboy’ Thornton is no acappella newbie. A long-time stalwart of Jackson’s Magnolia Chorus, the local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, Mike has done his share of singing all around Mississippi. In addition to singing with several acappella ensembles over the years, he has been seen on-stage in Vicksburg’s long-running ‘Gold in the Hills’ community theatre production, singing bass, no-less. Acknowledged as a true “Tag-Master,” Mike has a vast stored memory of countless tags ( snippets of 4-part-harmony arrangements, usually the tail-ends of songs) and is fond of late-night harmonizing in stairwells and hotel lobbies. Mike sings bass with Mississippi Sound.
